Tonjala has over 15 years of experience educating adult learners in both formal and informal settings as a community organizer, diversity trainer, facilitator and educator. She has designed student development curriculum, taught courses in career development and facilitated diversity trainings for corporate clients and colleges. Her focus areas include career & workforce development, education and financial literacy.

She is most proud of her work as an educator at Lansing Community College, where she advises over 1500 students annually and supports students who are transferring to a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Tonjala believes her role empowers individuals to reach their goals and fulfill their potential. She is equally passionate about supporting organizations that are on a mission to resolve challenging issues and make a significant positive impact on the world.

Tonjala Eaton is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and proud of her southern heritage! She studied International Business and Spanish at Dillard University as an undergraduate and earned her Master’s in Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education (HALE) at Michigan State University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family & friends, fashion, photography and traveling.
