Fariya Mohiuddin

Fariya is a freelance consultant that has been working in the fiscal justice and governance field for almost 15 years. She is a subject matter expert in fiscal policy, fiscal justice, gender mainstreaming in fiscal policy, and political accountability within fiscal systems and often facilitates trainings on these topics for policy professionals.

She recently added data analytics to her skillset – the ability to manipulate, process and visualise big data to produce insights, analysis, and dashboards.

As a freelance consultant, Fariya has worked with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (The German International Development Agency), The Hertie School (University of Governance in Berlin), Tax Justice UK, Greenpeace International, ActionAid International, the International Centre for Tax and Development, the World Bank Group, the Ford Foundation, and Open Society Foundation.
She came into contact and started working with Global Learning Partners during her time at the International Budget Partnership where she helped build and provide strategic leadership to their Tax Equity Initiative. As part of the in-house cohort of CDEPs and CDETs, she also played a role in shaping curricula, designing staff and partner learning events, and providing facilitation support across the organisation. 

Prior to joining IBP, Fariya helped Tax Justice Network build a human rights, feminist, and gender equality focused network of tax activists and researchers.

Fariya is based in Berlin, Germany with her husband and rescue dog, Bernie. She has lived and worked across 4 continents and has a knack for being a local anywhere she sets foot.
