Kate was first introduced to Dialogue Education in 2007 when her supervisor suggested she attend a Foundations of Dialogue Education course. A living testament to the wisdom inherent in Jane Vella’s axiom, “pray for doubt”, Kate was immediately skeptical. When she finally got around to applying the principles and practices of Dialogue Education she was astounded by the powerful learning that resulted!
In her current position as the Financial Futures director with Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity, Kate is continually exploring ways in which she can integrate DE principles and practices into financial capability programming. Her background includes positions at Global Learning Partners, Vermont Agency of Education, and State of Alaska, and serving as a Peace Corps and VISTA member.
Kate has an M.B.A. in Performance Management, a B.A. in Communication, certificates in Appreciative Inquiry and Positive Business and Society Change, and an ongoing curiosity and passion for learning cool new things.
