Kara Gouthro-Murgatroyd is the Education Team Lead and Counselling Therapist at the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia (ASNS). Having been with the society for 14 years, she is responsible for implementing a range of programs and services that provide education and support to persons living with dementia, care partners, and health care professionals. As a Counselling Therapist with the Society, Kara uses the skilled and principled use of relationship to facilitate self-knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth, and development of personal resources for those living with dementia. In her spare time, she loves to get out in nature with her family to kayak, camp, and walk her energetic Doodle, Bailey.
