Susan holds a BA in Recreation and Leisure Studies for Special Populations from the University of Alberta. She began her career as a recreation therapist in seniors living and long-term care settings, where she developed a deep commitment to enhancing quality of life for older adults.

She later joined the Alzheimer Society of BC as a Support & Education Coordinator, providing guidance and education to people living with dementia and their care partners. After several years in that role, Susan transitioned to the Society’s health-care education team. She now facilitates U-First!® workshops for frontline staff in long-term care and contributes to the development of new resources and learning experiences. Her work focuses on strengthening person-centred care practices and improving the everyday experience of people living with dementia.
