In grad school, Smita was captivated with Paolo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed and was grateful when she was introduced to Dialogue Education through her coworkers at the Chalmers Center. She enjoys learning about people using participatory practices and creatively considering ways to bring about change in their lives. Her passion is to see people experience freedom from oppression, poverty, and structural forces. Her education and work have taken her to various countries through various Christian international development organizations. She finds joy in singing and dancing with her daughters and having long walks with friends.
