Sarah MacFord (she/her) is a Knowledge Mobilization Officer at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. In her role, she has convened learning and collaboration events for groups of a few to over 100, in virtual, hybrid and in-person environments. She designs and facilitates sessions for colleagues, working groups, external stakeholders and knowledge holders, from the early stages of understanding learner needs all the way through to design, delivery, evaluation, and lessons-learned retrospectives. Her work also focuses on conceptualizing, producing, and mobilizing knowledge products for the municipal asset management and climate adaptation sector. Sarah loves designing creative and intentional icebreakers, compiling and organizing feedback from activities, and socializing lessons learned.
Sarah’s academic and professional background is in environmental planning, and she has worked in municipal, federal, private consulting, and not-for profit spaces in Canada. Sarah holds an Honours degree from Dalhousie University in Environmental Planning.
Sarah is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on the unceded and unsurrendered Territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabe Nation. She enjoys spending time by water and fills her cup by starting (and occasionally finishing!) any form of handicraft in her free time, especially amongst friends.
