Paulina is a mental health nurse and educator with over 20 years of experience in patient-centered care and research ethics. She is the Director of Patient Education and Involvement at Fundación Arturo López Pérez, an OECI Cancer Center in Chile, where she also leads a research group on patient involvement in cancer care and serves on the OECI Accreditation Board.
A passionate advocate for patient education and engagement, Paulina believes in co-creating respectful, empowering learning experiences that honor each patient’s individuality and knowledge. Her work challenges traditional power dynamics in healthcare, encouraging approaches that foster autonomy, self-care, and meaningful shared decision-making.
As a core member of the International Network for Patient Centered Care (PCCNET) and secretary for the International Shared Decision Making Society , she connects researchers, clinicians, educators, patients, and students across Latin America, Europe, and beyond to advance patient-centered care through global collaboration and learning.
Paulina facilitates in both Spanish and English and draws on her experience with Global Learning Partners’ methodologies to design inclusive, participatory spaces for learning and transformation.
