Andrés is a Program Officer with the International Budget Partnership, where he works with civil society to make government budgets more open and accountable. He is responsible for data collection and analysis for the Open Budget Survey and provides technical assistance and capacity development for civil society to advance budget analysis and advocacy to promote social justice and accountability. Before joining IBP, Andrés worked researching the fiscal regulation at the local level for a joint project between the Hertie School and the Bertelsmann Stiftung in Germany. He also served several years in the Supreme Audit Institution in Chile investigating irregularities and mismanagement of public funds. Andrés is fluent in English and Spanish and holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the Hertie School in Berlin.
