Peter Taught Us How to Highlight Values (1990’s)

I remember standing with Peter Noteboom at the side of a sunlit meeting room outside Chiangmai, Thailand, quietly discussing the rollout of one of the early versions of a learning program on monitoring a government’s budget using human rights law. Peter had been completely engaged in helping us apply the principles of Dialogue Education and the 8 steps to this new endeavor. A budget embodies the values of a society. Peter and GLP taught us how to highlight those values and thereby engage the hearts as well as the minds of participants in the wonky endeavor of analyzing budget numbers.
