I Want You to Meet my Friend Jane

I was introduced to Jane and her amazing work by a mutual friend, Paula Berardinelli. Our kids were in school together and we happened to be working on a project together when Paula said, “I want you to meet my friend Jane.” That was about 25 years ago and I am so grateful that I said, “Sure, I would love to!”

I met Jane and then promptly signed up to take her class, at that time it was called “Learning to Listen, Learning to Teach.” Everything I learned resonated with me in so many ways!

At the same time, the school where our kids attended was a Montessori school. That method of education for children was such a refreshing change from other methods I had seen. To me, Dialogue Education is simply Montessori for adults! While that analogy does not hold in every detail, the basic concepts are all very much the same and are rooted in huge respect for the learner.

That was the beginning and it has been the way that I teach ever since. Thank you, Jane, for all you have taught me!
