Heather Dean serves in the national office of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in Chicago, IL. She brings the lens of dialogue education to all she does, with a specialty in meeting, event and conference design, and a passion for creating safe and respectful spaces where learning and relationships can grow. Working with ELCA Justice for Women since 2012, Heather comes to every project with an intersectional gender justice lens. Heather is also a student of Bowen Family Systems Theory, which examines the impact of stress on how people function. She graduated from Grinnell College with a BA in History. Combining this experience with her dialogue education training, Heather has explored how to use historical anniversaries as opportunities for learning and growth, including the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation and the 50th Anniversary of the Ordination of Women in the US Lutheran Church.
