Jon Kidde has been exploring the concepts of restorative justice for over 16 years. Currently an independent consultant, Jon focuses his work on enhancing systems that respond to crime and wrongdoing through research, training, technical assistance, and strategic planning.
Recently, Jon completed a four-year initiative focused on enhancing the 14 county-based Court Diversion Programs in the state of Vermont. The initiative increased application of restorative justice and effective intervention principles. Through Dialogue Education, adult learning principles were integrated to foster sustainability and continuous quality improvement. He was influential in the design and implementation of several programs based on restorative justice in Wyoming and California.
Jon received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Colorado College and his Masters from the School of Social Welfare at University of California, Berkeley. He is a Certified Dialogue Education Practitioner and a Teacher in mentorship.
He and his wife live in Vergennes, VT with their two children, Lily and Luke. He enjoys getting outside with his family, mountain biking, backcountry snowboarding, and hiking.
