Debbie Lesure

Debbie Lesure knew from an early age that she wanted to work in education. Her grandmother was a Principal Teacher, and Debbie spent many days “working” alongside her grandmother. Her diverse professional experiences include work as a teacher in both elementary and special education settings, as an Educational Specialist at the Children’s Hospital in Boston, as an Educational Therapist in private practice, as an Elementary School Principal, and as a School Effectiveness Coordinator at the Vermont Agency of Education (AOE). Currently, Debbie is the Assistant Director of the Integrated Support for Learning Division at the Vermont Agency of Education. She is also Vice-President on the Board of Directors of the Stark Mountain Foundation.

A perpetual learner and collaborator, Debbie is a certified Appreciative Inquiry Practitioner. She believes in the importance of appreciative powerful open questions and uses this approach when mentoring and coaching colleagues and educators.  She supports the work of teams in the use of Dialogue Education Design for professional learning and SURE-Fire meeting design for effective meeting practices.

Debbie is happily married to her college sweetheart, George. Together they have three adult children and four grandchildren. In additional to her time with family, Debbie enjoys hiking and skiing in the mountains, boating and swimming in the lakes, and reading as relaxation.
